These last couple of days, Texas has been dealing with freezing conditions. The temperature has dropped down to 15 degrees which is out of the norm for us. Yesterday, most people were sent home early from work and schools were cancelled. Texas has seen it’s share of weather this year. Remember Hurricane Harvey? Anyway, I took advantage of this extra time off. Besides spending time with the family, I got some work done for my health business and the blog. If you’re interested in receiving some information on partnering with me, text “opportunity” to 409-550-6330 so you can listen in on call.
Most of you are aware that I’m from the country. Even though, we were surrounded by cows and horses, we didn’t have any. Matter of fact, I was the typical house child. It’s funny how I’m from the county, but not really a country girl. I’m not a regular at the rodeos or zydeco dances (creole, if you are unaware of what that is). A couple of years after grade school, I joined the military and lived in Germany for the next portion of my life. I literally saw the world.
That seemed so long ago. I got out of the military completely in 2006. Now, I’m happily married with amazing kids. We often go back to the country to visit my parents. Sometimes, we pull over on side of the road to let the kids look at the animals. During this time, I mentally go back to being that little girl in the country. I was so uncertain, naive, and oblivious to the world. It’s so funny how you’re the same person, but so far from the person you once were.
