My birthday recently passed and has me revisiting my dreams, goals and accomplishments. Do you self evaluate? You should really try it, if you don’t. In doing so, I realized that my definition of success has changed dramatically over the last year. Previously, I thought of only myself when it came to success. Isn’t that selfish?
The older I get, the more I realize that this life is not only about me. It’s about my kids, husband and the people who I come into contact with. If this life isn’t just about me, then my success isn’t only about me.
My definition of success is more than owning a Chanel purse or a pair of Louboutin Heels. It’s more than being in a current situation. The success that I long for goes much deeper. I’m talking about generation wealth, influencing others and making an impact in my community.
To get more specific, my kids will know how important it is to live debt free and to create residual and passive income. Living on their own terms will allow them to become an impact in the areas that they’re passionate about.
There you have it…..Our success (the hubby & I) is focused on changing our family dynamics and leaving behind a legacy to impact generations further on down the line. This is a new day and time friends. It’s too much education and technology to settle for making someone else dreams reality, rather than your own.
