Last year I really took my healthy lifestyle do a different level. I’m really proud of myself! My stomach is flat and my body is toned. I lost a total of 12 pounds and I’m not trying to lose anymore. It’s a struggle when you blog about fashion and can no longer fit into any of your jeans or skirts.
While I was focusing on losing the weight, I ate mostly lean meat and veggies. I avoided carbs like the plague. No bread, potatoes, pasta or rice. Cauliflower rice replaced regular rice and zucchini replaced pasta. Since I’m not trying to lose anymore weight, I’ve started eating a little more carbs like quinoa and low carb tortilla.
After watching What the Health last year, I never felt the same about meat. As I follow and learn more from health bloggers and youtubers, meat is just less desirable to me. I listen to how I feel and I just don’t want it anymore.
Eating meat was more convenient to me in the past, plus my family still enjoys it. I will never say never, but my husband will not stop eating meat anytime soon. We’re from Texas and eating meat, such as BBQ is big here. I do not want to give up seafood or dairy so I guess I’m a pescatarian wannabe. I don’t know. If it wasn’t for hashtag world, I wouldn’t care about labels.
Where I’m at now…. I’m taking it day by day. I’m not just going to say I quit eating meat because this is my 3rd attempt. Remember when I went 3 days without meat? Read about it here. Well I’m changing my mindset. I’m not trying to go cold turkey anymore. I will plan not to eat meat but if I do, so what? I feel like this is a more realistic way for me. Instead of having meat with every meal everyday, maybe I’ll eat meat once a week…until I just don’t have the taste for it anymore.
Since I’m a planner addict, I will be tracking the days that I didn’t eat any meat. Maybe I’ll reward myself for the small milestones. Also, in an effort to stay on track and maybe help a few of you, I will be sharing more of what I’m eating here on the blog. Please leave your food photography tips below!
Again, I’m not judging anyone who does eat and love meat. This is just my own journey and what I want for myself.
