If you have been following me for some time, you are aware of my love for beauty and fashion (including hair). I would eat, speak, and breathe the such. Everywhere we went, I had to take some pictures of my outfits and makeup. When I got serious about the blog, I hired an amazing photographer that I would meet up with on weekends for photoshoots. Can you believe that I would go shopping just to supply you with more content? (I promise I’m not criticizing other bloggers.) Even though I receive a ton of free items, calling me a shopaholic would be an understatement. I am no longer that woman. Priorities has changed. Goals has changed. Focus has changed. Our futures has changed. EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED.
A few months ago, I explained how my life has changed. You can read it here if you missed it. I started to incorporate my new life into the blog with posts like:
- Family Goals: Why We Started Living On A Budget
- How to Save Money On The Weekends And Still Have Fun
- How to Give Yourself A Raise And Increase Your Income
I’m still not fully satisfied with the blog. Even though I was sharing my new life with you, I was still holding on to the old me here on the blog. My priorities are no longer fashion and beauty. Yes, I do want to still look fabulous (and I will), but all of the shopping has completely slowed down. Losing followers and readers were some of my concern, but it’s okay. Yes, I will still cover beauty and fashion because I love it, but it’s not the primary focus anymore.
Let Me Explain Where I’m At
I am no longer a shopaholic and I’m not keeping up with the trends (or the Jones lol!). I mean that with every bone in my body. My family and I are on track to financial freedom and early retirement. I seriously went from spoiled shopaholic to frugal momma (almost). Since adopting Dave Ramsey’s approach, my family’s lifestyle has changed drastically. With his 7 easy steps, we are on track to pay off our new car in 1 year and our house in 3 years. Afterwards, we are on to real estate and investing. I wouldn’t have thought those things were possible if it wasn’t for him and his teachings. The key to this success is getting out of debt, retaining your earnings, and investing (& cash flow). Financial freedom is definitely more important to me than a bunch of likes on a photo.
The Life She Created Blog
The Life She Created will no longer focus primarily on fashion or beauty. I am transforming TLSC to a lifestyle blog that will cover a variety of topics such as healthy living, goal setting, finance, side hustle and life randomness. I’m excited for this new journey and I hope you are too!
