First, let me say that my family and I are safe from Hurricane Harvey. We decided to get a hotel room (not too far from our home) at the very beginning of this storm. I’m so glad that we came when we did because the hotel filled up quickly. To be honest, I had to leave my family at home to hurry to book our room and they met me up here a little later. Thank goodness, we were already packed.
We decided to get a room because our power was on and off. With us having two small kids, I want them to feel safe and comfortable as possible. As we’re inside of the hotel, the sound of the storm is little to none to hear. If we were still in our home, my kids (including myself) would be freaking out by the sounds of Hurricane Harvey. One last reason is basically us just preparing for the worst. We didn’t know if our home would flood or not. After placing sandbags and other preparations, we left.
A neighbor sent us some photos of our neighborhood, which is what you are looking at in the photos. I am hoping and praying our home didn’t get water inside of it. We haven’t had a chance to go back to check because the roads are still flooded.
This whole situation has me on edge. Schools has been canceled. Most businesses are closed. The flood has affected almost everyone. Besides the water, I’m thinking of the aftermath. The rebuild is going to be serious! There’s people who have lost everything and have to start completely over. I pray for their strength.
If everything is ok at our home, I will be donating everything that I am selling in my eBay plus more. Pray for Texas and Louisiana. We have to not only get through this, but rebuild. Talk to y’all soon….Love y’all. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram!
