My fashionistas may have thought I’ve completely lost my mind lately, since changing my lifestyle to living on a budget. The truth of the matter is I love to fix myself up and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I also don’t plan on letting up on our budget….You can totally live on a budget and be a fashionista. You just need to change a few things. You can totally live on a budget and be a fashionista. Click To Tweet
Change your mindset:
Stop being a brand groupie. The truth is half of the products aren’t as cute as the name that represents them. I’ve never been big on brands, even before I started budgeting. If brands are that important to you, use them as milestone accomplishments. You paid off your car? Go buy that Gucci purse. If brands are that important to you, use them as milestone accomplishments. Find your own swag. Think about fashion outside-of-the box. If you can sew or put things together in a creative style, use your skill. Heck, you can probably make an additional income from your pieces.
Stop paying full price for items. Buy second hand at thrift store and garage sales. I have found some of the cutest and unique pieces from thrifting. If you do shop at retail stores, shop sales and clearance racks. Rue21 always has some cute items in their clearance. I’ve purchased many items for only $5. Shop eBay. There are many sellers that offer auctions where you can bid and get items for cheap.I have found some of the cutest and unique pieces from thrifting. Click To Tweet
Shop out of Season:
I recently purchased 3 pairs of shorts for $5 because the store was getting rid of all of their summer items. The truth is that the shopping experience will not be as exciting since you can’t really wear the item until that season comes around again. Nevertheless, you will be ready when it’s time to rock them.
Being Fabulous is a State of Mind, Not the Brands You Wear. Being fabulous (in my opinion) is demonstrating confidence from within. It is also succeeding (or striving to succeed) in all areas of your life. Fashionista On A Budget
As far as our new budget lifestyle is concerned, I have slowed down shopping a lot! My priorities have changed. I will go as far as to say, this is no longer a fashion blog. For my fashionistas, don’t worry, I will still keep the fashion posts coming (maybe once a week). As a former shopaholic, my wardrobe is too big and I will never completely stop shopping. There is also something that I do to ensure fresh trending styles here on the blog that I will be sharing soon. This will be helpful to anyone thinking of becoming a fashion blogger, but can’t afford to purchase a ton of clothes. Stay tuned….
