Why Do I Feel Bad When Everything Is Right: The Beginning of my Spiritual Journey
It’s funny how everything in your life is right, yet you still feel off. You don’t know why. There is an emptiness inside even though, many love and care about you. I felt like this some months ago. After much thought, I realized that my priorities were all wrong. In this post, I mentioned how my life, at the time, was not aligned with my goals.
My ultimate goal is to live and work for God as the head of my life. That is the reason we are on a financial journey. It’s not just about having nice things. Doing His work and living my purpose is where my heart is at. At that time, he wasn’t priority in my life. I was going to church on Sundays, but that was about it. How is He the head of my life when I only think about him a couple hours out of the week? When I drift away from him, I feel empty. All of the work that I do feels useless without him. I feel weak (not physically, internally) and open to all destruction. It’s as if I’m waiting for something to happen when I’m not close to him. I feel alone.
It is said that when people go through sickness or hard times, they want to be closer to God. That wasn’t the case for me. I wasn’t going through a bad season. My inner man was just hungry. Everyone’s story is different.
Everything may be good on the outside, but listen to your heart. You know when things are right and when they aren’t. Don’t get lost in what people may think of you or your life. Find quiet time for yourself, pray and meditate. Ask for clarity and direction.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
Spiritual journey is a phrase used by many different religions to mean the natural progression of a person as they grow in understanding of God, the world, and himself. It is an intentional lifestyle of growing deeper in knowledge and wisdom.
