“Have you heard of Dave Ramsey?” was the question that my boss asked me. I was telling him how a bill collector was calling my office phone for one of the workers and that led us into a conversation about money and finances. I told him that the name sounded familiar but, I didn’t recall who he was. To sum it up, he basically told me that Dave Ramsey was a financial genius. He covers everything dealing with finance. My husband and I are in our thirties and we’re in a good place with our finances. We save and prepare for retirement and college (for our two kids). We bought our home a few years ago and make a decent amount of income. I have always thought we were good at what we were doing, but now that I have been following Dave Ramsey, we could be doing so much more with our income. I’m a nerd and love learning. When my boss first told me about Dave Ramsey, I thought he was going to be boring and I would lose interest. I do have a college education but, I was afraid he would be talking over my head and I wouldn’t understand what the hell he was talking about. I was so wrong and soooooo glad I gave him a chance. I have been listening to his podcasts and have been receiving a ton of beneficial information. My boss gave me his book, The Total Money Makeover and I will do a full review once I finish. That won’t be long at all. I listen to his podcast in my car and I’m so hooked. Yes, I am taking a break from the reggae music. On his podcast, Dave Ramsey talks about articles that he has read and gives his expertise on them. He also takes questions over his social media, email and call ins. Testimonies are also held on his podcast. People actually go on the show and share their stories of debt and what they did to get out of it. I am so grateful that my boss put me on to Dave Ramsey.
What’s the point to all of this Delabelle?
I am a firm believer that when I’m blessed with knowledge, I have to share. I don’t feel right obtaining benefits and not sharing. It’s just like winning the lottery! There has to be some good to come out of it such as donating or giving to the church…..but that’s just me honey lol! Wherever you are in your life, you would benefit from listening or reading Dave Ramsey’s material. You can be in debt or just want to secure your future. If you are reading this and you are young, this applies to you as well!
I enjoy Dave Ramsey for several reasons:
- He is very understandable and even explains some of the terminology that he uses.
- He isn’t boring at all.
- He is straight forward.
- He is an inspiration.
- He is a Christian.
- He speaks to everyone from high income to low income.
This is not a sponsored post at all. My husband and I have been doing well with our finances, but we can be doing so much better. That’s why I’m so excited for what’s to come. I am totally reevaluating our finances. Don’t worry, I will still have material to cover here on the blog and channel. I am hoping that this post has left you feeling inspired as I feel speaking with my boss.
Please comment below and let’s talk about it. Have you heard of him? Do you follow him? Are you going to look into it?
Have you checked out my goals for this month? How are you doing with your goals so far?
