I recently ran across a video on youtube that really touched me and inspired me to write……
What does it really mean to believe in yourself?
Having fears and doubts are normal and is a good thing. That means that you are stepping outside of your comfort zone. You are pushing your boundaries. Believing in yourself is how you react in that moment when fear kicks in. I attend many events where I am constantly meeting new people. As a blogger, it comes with the territory and is very important to know how to interact. For me, this is stressful at times. Dealing with post traumatic stress from the military has a big part in it, but I refuse to let it stop me from reaching my goals. Before walking into an event or meeting a new face, I pray, pump myself up and do the very best that I can. Know what it means to truly believe in yourself. Know what you want and set goals. Write them down and claim your success. You are capable of doing anything. The next time you are feeling nervous, stressful or uncomfortable, do this: stop in that moment, re-evaluate your thoughts, find the opportunity, kill it.
What if I fail?
Know that failing is an opportunity for learning and growth. Most all successful people have failed numerous times before finally hitting the nail on the head. Henry Ford failed in five businesses before Ford Motor Company hit big. R.H. Macy of Macys retail store had seven fail businesses before finally reaching success.
Figure out what your goals are and believe yourself. The next time your boss ask for any volunteers on a big project, take the opportunity and stand out. Do whatever it takes for you to get to the next step. You are capable of more than you could ever imagine.
