I have been consistent 95% of the time in the gym since January of 2017. I found one simple, stupid rule that actually keeps me consistent in going. Previously, it seems like after three or four months of working out, I would always quit. First, I would end up busy for a few days, then the weekend would come around and here comes the bad eating. Next, the laziness would set in, then I would fall off. 2017 has been my year of consistency…..all because of one stupid rule.
Here it goes: I will never go more than 3 consecutive days without working out. That includes the weekends and holidays! Normally I don’t miss more than two days in a row. When or if I hit day number three, my nerves get bad. I feel like I’m slowly failing and falling off. All of my hard work is going down the toilet. Even if I felt bad or sick, I still make it to the gym on the third day. Thank goodness, I haven’t had anything major happen.
Sometimes, all it takes is for us to SHOW UP. Once you’re physically in the gym and listening to your favorite workout song, something begins to happen (or maybe it’s the NRG kicking in! lol!)
This is not going to be a long post for the sake of SEO or google. I just wanted to get straight to the point. Yes, something so small and stupid actually works for me! Look at it as your job. If you miss a certain amount of days, your fired….unless it’s an emergency!!! Good luck with your fitness journey boss babes!
