I was wrong.
As a kid, I remember getting my hair done by this one particular woman. She was standing in front of me working in the front. I remember looking at the bulge in the middle of her shirt thinking……”That can’t be right.” For some reason, I never forgot that growing up. That still didn’t prevent me from purchasing the wrong size bra for many years. Yes, I’m guilty. I thought I was was a 36C for about five years. I finally got measured by a professional and was told that I was a 32DD. Do you know what I did when she told me that? I went to another business and got measured by someone else. Surely the first lady was wrong and didn’t know what she was talking about. I can be stubborn at times but I can also admit when I’m wrong. Boy was I wrong…….
After the second measurement, I went straight home to dig out my bras. I picked out the fairly new ones to sell from my closet. I threw the bad ones away and donated the rest. Let me tell you, now that I wear the correct size, I am so much more comfortable. My tops fit better and I’m not constantly adjusting. Are you constantly adjusting? You shouldn’t be.
6 Ways to Tell If Your Bra Doesn’t Fit Properly
- It hurts.
- You have bulges on the top or the side of the cup.
- The cup puckers out.
- The bra rides up in the back.
- The center of the bra doesn’t lie flat on your breastbone.
- The straps dig into your shoulders or they slip off.
It is free to get measured at most stores. Go to a few different ones if you really need to be persuaded like myself. I still get measured about once a year just to see if my girls changed any. Comment below if you’ve worn the wrong size bra before. I know I’m not the only one! What was your experience? Were you surprised at the correct size?
